Disney Buys Stake in Fast-Growing Video Site – Hulu

Mashable reports that Disney has announced that it’s acquired a stake in quickly growing video site Hulu, joining News Corp and NBC Universal in the venture. That means full-length episodes of ABC hits shows will be available side-by-side with content from NBC and News Corp’s FOX.

Sneak Peek Inside Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Fans of Jiko-The Cooking Place and Boma-Flavors of Africa have a new reason to dine at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge with the debut of “Sanaa” on May 1 in the resort’s new Kidani Village expansion.

The menu in the 150-seat, family-oriented restaurant reflects the art of African cooking with Indian flavors.

Legendary Disney Imagineer Marty Sklar To Retire

Disney Legend and Walt Disney Imagineering Ambassador Marty Sklar announced in a letter to all Imagineers last Friday that he would be retiring from his current position of “international ambassador for Walt Disney Imagineering” effective July 17. Marty’s retirement will mark the end of an era as he is one of the last Imagineers to know Walt Disney personally.

Disneyland’s Summer Nightastic!

During the first 30 years of Disneyland’s history, the park often struggled to create an identity to attract locals into the park. One of the strategies they would employ is to host “themed” nights in which they might bring in some form of entertainment.

With no new major attraction to promote this year, Disneyland resort is reverting back to an old trick with what they call “Nightastic!”

Disneynature’s “Earth” Opens; Studio Vowes To Plant Over 500,000 Trees

In honor of Disneynature’s first film, “EARTH,” the studio has pledged to plant a tree for every ticket sold for the film’s opening week. Numbers are on the rise. In fact, 500,000 people have already purchased advance tickets to the film, which opens today (April 22) on Earth Day.

Games of the Boardwalk Re-Open at Disney’s California Adventure

Games of the Boardwalk, located in the Paradies Pier section of Disney’s California Adventure, reopened this weekend two weeks ahead of schedule. The four midway-style games received a facelift during the lengthy remodel with each of the four games has a new, Disney-inspired theme.

Disneynature’s Earth “Heritage” Video Featurette

I have always loved watching films about nature, a passion that dates back to the classroom as a small child watching National Geographic films in place of regular school work. That is why I am especially excited for Disneynature’s “Earth” which is to be released in theaters on Earth Day. Disneynature has released a new featurette entitled “Heritage” that provides a glimpse into what moviegoers might expect once the film is released to theaters in April.
