The Future Home of Cars Land in California Adventure
Disney’s California Adventure is quite a mess right now with construction projects going on everywhere. One of those projects is Cars Land, a new area within the park that will be themed after the Disney/Pixar animated movie – Cars.
The actual location of this new land will be where the Timon parking lot currently resides. A recent photo reveals that the parking lot is shrinking in preparation for the development of Cars Land.
Access Walt Disney World Resort Info Via iPhone and iTouch App
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, in partnership with Florida State University’s Dedman School of Hospitality and Department of Management Information Systems (MIS)—both housed in the College of Business, has developed an application for Apple’s iPhone and iTouch which allows users to access in-depth resort information from the handheld devices.
The application, which is available online at the Apple App store, is one of the first iPhone applications designed for an individual hotel property.
Disney’s Party Like a Toon Celebration Sweepstakes
Disney Online is kicking off the “Toontown Online Party Like a Toon Celebration Sweepstakes” which gives players a chance to win a trip to Walt Disney World or Disneyland. It’s all part of their expansion of the new Toon Parties, a new addition to Toontown Online where players can have parties filled with crazy activities and wacky decorations with up to 20 Toons.
Simply play Toontown daily between now and July 31, 2009 and each day you log in and play, you will automatically be entered for a chance to win (must be 13 years old or above).

Luxury Pet Resort Coming Soon to Walt Disney World
The Walt Disney Company is partnering with Best Friends Pet Care to develop a full-service, luxury pet “resort” which will be located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The one-of-a-kind facility will cater to park and resort guests, as well as Walt Disney World employees, providing a full range of pet hospitality services including dog and cat boarding, day care and grooming services, and doggy day camp.
Sneak Peek at the Magic Kingdom’s Revamped ‘Hall of Presidents’
Dewayne Bevil of the Orlando Sentinel was able to get a sneak peek of the Hall of Presidents attraction that has been revamaped and is scheduled to reopen on July 4th at The Magic Kingdom. While the big news is the addition of our 44th president, Barak Obama, there are additional changes and updates as well.
Pixie Hollow Summer Vacation Sweepstakes
Disney is offering a Pixie Hollow Summer Vacation Sweepstakes that gives participants a chance to meet Tinker Bell and see the Disneyland Resort in a whole new light as Summer Nightastic! generates high-energy excitement. The resort’s summer promotion runs from June 12 through August 23.
Fairies fans will be mesmerized by Pixie Hollow Enchantment, an after dark, twinkling light show that unites the Fairies’ hidden talents in a celebration of summer.
Disneyland Hotel Scheduled for a Significant Renovation
Beginning in August 2009, Southern California’s landmark Disneyland Hotel will start a significant renovation project that will include major improvements to its guest rooms and considerable changes to the exterior of the hotel. The hotel will remain open during the renovation, which will be conducted in phases, and is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
Magic Under the Park – Walt Disney World’s Utilidors
Legend has it that one day while Walt Disney was in Disneyland, he was very disturbed when he observed a Frontierland cast member walking through Tomorrowland in costume. In Walt’s mind, this completely destroyed a very magical element of the park.
So when plans for Walt Disney’s second theme park in Florida were being developed, the Imagineers decided to design a system of tunnels, called “Utilidors,” under the park so that cast members and service people can travel from land to land without being seen by guests and thus help keep the magic in place.
Summer Nightastic! Underway at Disneyland Resort
As previously promised, Disney kicked off the summer season this past weekend with the Summer Nightastic! promotion, featuring the relaunch of an improved Fantasmic! and Electrical Parade, the debut of the all-new Magical Fireworks show, the TLT Dance Club and Pixie Hollow Enchantment overlays.
