Little did she know that his public proposal would lead to an elaborate musical number that would include a megaphone, a lady with Mickey Mouse ears, a dancing janitor, a plastic sword and more.
If you are a Disneyland fanatic such as myself, then you are going to absolutely love recent film footage that has been released of Disneyland’s construction in 1954-55. The official movie trailer of Tim Burton’s theatrical rendition of “Alice in Wonderland,” which is coming to theaters March 5, 2010, has been released. The Disney fantasy film is an adaptation of the Lewis Carroll novel and features a star-studded cast with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter playing the Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.
Orlando Attractions Magazine is reporting that the rumors surrounding recently leaked blueprints related to a very near future expansion of Fantasyland in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom are indeed true. In fact signs that construction is about to begin are already evident.
There is a new app available for both iPhones and iPod devices called “Disney at Work: Magic Kingdom” which is is filled with scores of insights and hundreds of photos that focus on lessons in customer loyalty, leadership, creativity, and even change management.
Disney Online has launched a new site that provides in depth previews and information related to the $1 billion dollar expansion currently taking place in their California Adventure park. This new site correlates with its physical entity, providing users the ability to learn and keep up with all the expansion plans.
Thanks to The Disney Blog, we have seen what appears to be very real blueprints laying out all the new ‘attractions’ planned for an expanded Fantasyland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. While the plans look legit, the real question is have these been approved for construction and if so we should start seeing bulldozers pushing dirt as soon as October.
On the same day Disneyland is celebrating its 54th birthday, Disney Imagineering legend, Marty Sklar, is retiring after 54 years of service. Marty was honored today prior to the park’s opening with the dedication of a new window on Main Street, U.S.A. He rites from the position of International Ambassador for Walt Disney Imagineering and leaves behind an incredible legacy.
Fifty four years ago today, Disneyland opened its gates to the public for the first time. Since then, Disneyland has become much more than a theme park – it has become a memory book to so many who have passed under the tunnels that lead to Main Street U.S.A. where to sign overhead reads, “Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy.”
Disney officials are proudly proclaiming that the upcoming World of Color water show at Disney’s California Adventure will far surpass Disneyland’s Fantasmic and Epcot’s Illuminations in magnitude, creativity and technical wizardry. And if you have been following the construction progress as I have, you’d have to agree.
