Bird’s Eye View of New Buena Vista Street at DCA

Mickey MouseRevealed at the D23 Expo, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs and Bob Weis, Executive Vice President, Creative, Walt Disney Imagineering, shared the video below which provides an idea of what the new entrance to Disney California Adventure might look like.

Guests will be able ride the Red Car Trolley up Buena Vista Street to the park’s new icon, Carthay Circle Theatre — a recreation of the original theater where “Snow White and Seven Dwarfs” premiered in 1937. Guests will also be able to experience the park’s 1920′s style architecture which will include a mix of stores, eateries and guest service.

And with no further ado, here is the video.

  1. This redo definitely makes me think of Disney/MGM Studios… I like it though, feels a little more interesting than what DCA currently offers.

  2. So what’s the point of being called “California Adventure” if there’s no Golden Gate Bridge, no Sunshine Plaza, and other California icons? I really think this change is going to be one of Disney’s biggest mistakes. I already hate the entrance now that the giant letters have been removed. I feel like the charm is all gone. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how it looks and feels once it’s completed, but at this point, I don’t have high hopes.

  3. One thing DCA has always lacked is themeing. When you are in Disneyland, you feel you have been transformed to another world and left the “real” one behind. DCA has never felt like that so hopefully with the changes, one will feel “transported” to another world.

As for California elements, there still plenty: Soarin Over California, the land of Paradise Pier, Holywood Backlots, Grizzly River Run, Hollywood Tower of Terror and even its new entrance to name a few.
