A Brief History of Disneyland

I came across this great Infographic depicting many of the memorable events that have transpired since the 1955 opening of the original Disneyland Park in Anaheim. If you recall (or have heard), that day, which was “invite only,” did not arrive without its many issues – uninvited guests jumping the fence to get in, attractions breaking down, restaurants running out of food, ladies high heels sinking in the newly poured asphalt on main Street and the list goes on.

Cars Land Summer 2012 Opening Date Confirmed

Disney spokesman John McClintock has confirmed that Cars Land, will open at Disney’s California Adventure in Summer 2012. The exact date will of course depends of all the ride tests that WDI will do on each Cars Land attractions.

Additionally, The Orange County Register created a neat graphic which details what’s in store for the 12-acre addition to Disney’s California Adventure.

Little Mermaid Ariel’s Undersea Adventure Full Ride Video

Spoiler Alert: If you do not want to see what awaits you in California Andentures’ newest attraction, “The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure,” then leave right now. ‘Talking Mickey’ To Debut in a New Show

The talking Mickey we wrote about in May of this year will begin making regular appearances at Disney’s California Adventure park as part of a new show. This is the first time that the “enhanced” Mickey character, which has a moving mouth and blinking eyes, will routinely appear in front of visitors at Disneyland Resort as he plays a central role in “Disney Dance Crew” that debuts Friday at California Adventure.

Bountiful Valley Farms in Disney’s California Adventure Will Be No More

September 7 is the date that Disney has announced its plans to close the Bountiful Valley Farms area in California Adventure. This to make room for Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, one of the new attractions coming to Cars Land, an all new land based on the Pixar animated film – Cars. The area between the farm and the Pacific Wharf area will become the new entrance into Cars Land.

Mulholland Madness: Meet Goofy’s Sky School

As the continued process of re-themeing and enhancing takes place in Disney’s California Adventure park, Mulholland Madness is next on the list of attractions to receive an update. The family coaster, which has been called “unimaginative” in the past, will get a Goofy’s Sky Skool “refreshing” as part of the $1.1-billion effort to add a heavy dose of Mickey Mouse and friends to the under-performing theme park.
