Walt Disney World Announces “Summer Nightastic!”

Walt Disney World has announced plans for Summer Nightastic!, a series of events that begin in early June 2010 and run through the summer season. Summer Nightastic! will include the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade, a huge daily firework show (a renamed ‘Magic, Music and Mayhem’) at the Magic Kingdom, and a new drop profile and effects for the Tower of Terror.

Volunteer For a Day, Get Free Admission To a Disney Park

The Walt Disney Company revealed a new program today on Good Morning America that allows individuals to volunteer one day of service to a participating organization in exchange for one day of free admission to a Disney Park. It’s a first-of-its-kind program Disney is calling “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day.”

The free one-day admission ticket will be made available to as many as 1 million people who volunteer through HandsOn Network, a giant volunteer organization and will be honored at one of Disney’s Anaheim and Florida parks.

D23 Expo: Magic Kingdom Fantasyland Expansion Concept Art

During the recent D23 Expo, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo confirmed rumors regarding the Fantasyland expansion in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Scheduled to be complete by 2013, this would be the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom and would vastly increasing the size of the existing Fantasyland.

Future Expansion for Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland (Maybe)

Thanks to The Disney Blog, we have seen what appears to be very real blueprints laying out all the new ‘attractions’ planned for an expanded Fantasyland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. While the plans look legit, the real question is have these been approved for construction and if so we should start seeing bulldozers pushing dirt as soon as October.

Early Morning Monorail Crash Leaves One WDW Cast Member Dead

Sad news from Walt Disney Word: 21 year old cast member, Austin Wuennenberg, died today from an early morning collision between two Monorail trains. The two trains collided at around 2 a.m. at the Transportation and Ticket Center, which is the hub for Walt Disney World’s transportation system. The pilot of the second monorail was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No guest injuries are reported.
