Will Monsters, Inc. 2 Be a Prequel?
Little has been revealed regarding the Monsters, Inc. 2 project in the works since 2008. However, new information released by Disney Central Plaza (via Stitch Kingdom) sheds some light that the movie is going to be a prequel.
Additional Details Released on Cars 2 Sequel
Disney/Pixar has released additional details on the Cars 2 sequel. In short, Lightning McQueen and Mater head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. However the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in international espionage.
Cars 2: A Spy Movie?
Disney/Pixar has released the first Cars 2 trailer teaser which clearly indicates that the awaited animated feature will also be a “spy” movie. They also released four pieces of concept-arts showing races in London, Paris, Porto Corsa and Japan.
Whereas the original cars took place in and around old Route 66, this one appears to go international.
Toy Story 3 Makes History Passing the $1 Billion Mark
Disney/Pixar Animation Studio’s “Toy Story 3D” has crossed the $1 billion threshold at the global box office making it the first animated film to ever reach such a feat. In fact, this is Disney’s second film this year to reach the $1 billion mark -Tim Burton’s “Alice In Wonderland” being the other film to reach the astounding number. If that wasn’t marvelous enough, Disney is now the only studio in history to have two films beyond the $1 billion mark in a year.
Guillermo del Toro To Make Movie Based on Haunted Mansion
Guillermo del Toro’s is developing a film based on Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion attraction. Del Toro surprised over 6,000 fans at a panel at San Diego’s comic book convention Comic-Con with the announcement that he is teaming up with Walt Disney Studios to produce a film based on the classic theme park ride, built in 1969.
Disney/ABC To Launch ‘Disney Junior’ – A New Channel For Preschoolers and Their Families
Disney/ABC Television Group will launch “Disney Junior”, a new multiplatform brand and 24-hour basic cable/satellite channel and online site devoted to preschool-age children. Scheduled to debut in the U.S. in 2012, Disney Junior will invite mom and dad to join their child in the Disney experience of magical, musical and heartfelt stories and characters, both classic and new, while incorporating specific learning and development themes designed for kids age 2-7.
Disney Unveils KeyChest Digital Movie Technology
The Los Angeles Biz Journal is reporting that The Walt Disney Co. has officially unveiled its long-awaited KeyChest initiative that should it take off will impact digital movie downloads. The initiative would allow a user to purchase a movie or television show that would be stored on a remote server and be standardized in a way that would allow the media to be viewable on multiple platforms including computers, mobile phones and television.

Disney Forms Deal To Air Movies and Television in the Middle East
Blockbuster movies such as “Wall-E” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” as well as television series such as “Ugly Betty” will soon be screened free-to-air in the Middle East, as a result of a new deal that was recently announced in Dubai.
This new partnership will greatly expand coverage by making the content available to the Middle East’s booming satellite free-to-air television market.

A sorcerer leaves his workshop in the hands of his apprentice who gets into trouble when the broomstick he’s tasked to do his chores for him somehow develops a mind of its own.
ABC Family To Feature Collection of Pixar Short Films This Holiday Season
If you are like me and love the many short films Pixar has made in conjunction with their full-length animated features, then you’ll want to mark your calendars for Wednesday December 2 at 7pm when ABC Family will air “Walt Disney Pictures Presents Pixar Short Films.” The airing will lead up to ABC Family’s annual 25 Days of Christmas event .
