Interactivity Coming To Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World
The Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World Florida is getting some new technology. A new exterior “Next Generation” queue is in the works and the end of the attraction itself has received a bit of a makeover. Both additions will add some interactivity to the famous attraction.
Destination D: Walt Disney World Resort 40th Anniversary Celebration
Following the rave reviews of Destination D: Disneyland ’55, D23 has announced Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th Anniversary, to be held on May 14 and May 15, 2011. The event will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Orlando resort, its history and heritage. The event will take D23 Members on a journey from the moment when the first parcels of land in Central Florida were purchased in 1964 through the opening of EPCOT Center in 1982 and beyond.

The 83rd Academy Awards are set to take place 30 days from now and Disney has a pretty good chance on taking home at least one if not more Oscars. They received a total of twelve nominations that cover 6 films including Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland and TRON: Legacy to name a few.

Shanghai Disneyland Will Consist of Three Theme Parks
City officials have confirmed that Shanghai Disneyland will consist of three theme parks. Additionally the resort, which is planning to open in 2015, will have a a special Metro line that will transport visitors to the theme park. This will be China’s second Disneyland property and the first on actual China mainland, the other being located in Hong Kong.
Will Monsters, Inc. 2 Be a Prequel?
Little has been revealed regarding the Monsters, Inc. 2 project in the works since 2008. However, new information released by Disney Central Plaza (via Stitch Kingdom) sheds some light that the movie is going to be a prequel.

Disney Dream Floats Out of Meyer Werft Dock For First Time
Disney Cruise Line’s first new ship in more than a decade, the Disney Dream, was floated out today from a dry dock in Papenburg, Germany. Large crowds of cruise ship fans lined the waterfront at the Meyer Werft shipyard to watch the 128,000-ton vessel emerge from the covered dock for the first time, erupting into cheers as it cleared the structure.

‘Talking Mickey’ To Debut in a New Show
The talking Mickey we wrote about in May of this year will begin making regular appearances at Disney’s California Adventure park as part of a new show. This is the first time that the “enhanced” Mickey character, which has a moving mouth and blinking eyes, will routinely appear in front of visitors at Disneyland Resort as he plays a central role in “Disney Dance Crew” that debuts Friday at California Adventure.
Cars 2: A Spy Movie?
Disney/Pixar has released the first Cars 2 trailer teaser which clearly indicates that the awaited animated feature will also be a “spy” movie. They also released four pieces of concept-arts showing races in London, Paris, Porto Corsa and Japan.
Whereas the original cars took place in and around old Route 66, this one appears to go international.
